22 year old Naledi Rakgwale is currently studying towards her BA in Forensic Science and Technology at the University of South Africa . A creative at heart she started a blog called Own your Voice in 2017 where at first she just shared her English essays. Seeing the impact and interest it got she divided to start tackling real life issues. By writing short essays that took readers on a journey and finally a lesson.A blog that grew and evolved into Non profit company called Own your Voice .With projects such as Catch-up Fridays , where professionals are invited to share an insight about their industry and jobs , highs and lows. And 20 diaries which is aimed at acknowledging our everyday heroes .

On August 6th 2022 I was crowned Universal Queen South Africa and the work has started with wonderful projects in the pipeline. My main focus is to engage with he youths and different communities. Create a space where both adults and the young can together, sit down and real life conversations, share their wisdom and empower one another. We are plagued by different forms of bullying and abuse. Cyber bullying and bullying in schools is at an all time high. The best way to make a change is to start. Start by having these conversations with our youths, the young and adults.

I will be representing South Africa in Nigeria for the title of Universal Queen Africa. A journey I am so excited about. Preparations have already begun and it is a learning experience. I love that different countries of Africa will be coming together to celebrate this beautiful continent. To share in our culture , lessons and dreams. I realized how impactful this platform is, how it builds one's self esteem and encourages you to get out of your comfort zone. I believe a crown is so much more. It is a world of commitment, responsibility and hardwork. It's not just a title.
