The 70th Miss Universe is held in Eliat, Israel. The prestigious pageant held its preliminary competition on Dec. 10 with 80 gorgeous girls competing for the coveted Mouawad Power of Unity crown and title.
The all-female selection committee for the pageant's prelims is made up of Kapuso actress Marian Rivera, Victoria's Secret Angel Adriana Lima, Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela, Former Miss USA Cheslie Kryst, European influencer Iris Mittenaere, Entrepreneur Lori Harvey, Israel's first and only Miss Universe Rina Mor, and Emmy award-winning entertainment host Adamari Lopez.

The Miss Universe 2021 was hosted by the reigning Miss Universe Andrea Meza and American tv personality Carson Kressley. The delegates took to the stage first in swimsuits then in evening gowns and finally their national costumes.
During the swimsuit round of the pageant, Miss Bahrain Manar Nadeem Deyani received loud cheers as she walked on stage in a fully-covered outfit. She's the first-ever beauty queen from Bahrain at the contest.
Manar Nadeem Deyani's pageant representation is anchored on breaking beauty standards. She wore a black jumpsuit instead of the usual bikini traditionally worn by candidates.
After the event, she said, "Today I walked not just alone but with the millions of women who believe that in this generation the only standard of beauty should be the light that is sparkling from within. Anyone can shine as long they have the heart to serve with purity, compassion, and kindness."
For this, she earned praises from pageant fans. They lauded her for sticking to her culture.
