Sunil Grover an Bollywood actor and comedian par excellence rose to fame for his portrayal of Gutthi and Dr Gulati in Kapil Sharma's show and for his roles in Salman Khan starrer Bharat and Tandav.
He is back now to entertainIn an exciting murder mystery number. Sunil will be seen playing the protagonist in the Zee5 Original ‘Sunflower’
Premiering on Jun 11, directed by Vikas Bahl and Rahul Sengupta. The plot revolves around the quirky residents from the Sunflower Society in Mumbai and a murder investigation with a dash of dark humor
D Fashion: How were you introduced to the genre of Comedy?
Sunil: I got introduced unknowingly. I was mimicking my teachers, my relatives And people kept laughing at me . I was not aware of the term comedy yet.
D Fashion: How did sunflower happen?
Sunil: Mr. Vikas Bahl approached me with the script and I instantly fell in love with the character, Sonu. I underwent a transformation not only physically where I shed 7-8 kilos but mentally as well. .I had to fit in the shoes of Sonu hence embracing naivety
D Fashion: Your poster is very interesting, portraying a very interesting twist in your character Sonu, what can we expect?
Sunil: Yes, thank you . You can expect quirkiness in the character, which undergoes various transitional elements just like its plot which is laced with dark humor, thrill when least expected
D Fashion: How did Bharat Happen?
Sunil: I have always been a big fan of Salman Khan . And when the movie was offered to me I didn’t think twice. I would like convey my gratitude and thanks to Salman Khan, Ali Abbas Zafar and Atul Aghnihotri and treasure some great memories during the making
D Fashion: Would we see a Gutthi or Dr. Gulati in future?
Sunil: Gutthi albeit Dr. Gulati garnered me immense fame. Currently there is no such characters in the pipeline and my focus is on sunflower but in future you never know and I am Looking forward to playing different characters. Currently I am in a beautiful phase and going with the flow
D Fashion: What are your future plans? Will you be back on silver screen?
Sunil: I love being on tv, if time permits I shall accommodate it in my schedule if the show interests me as currently my projects have been pushed at a later date due to pandemic I can squeeze in
D Fashion: Message for all your fans!!
Sunil: I love coming to dubai and performing there and the audience is amazing. Last time, when I was performing it was a 2 hour show which stretched to 3.5 hours as they wanted more of me . The audience showered me with so much love and was exceptionally receptive. Hence, I am looking forward to perform again when travel opens again. Plus I also love shopping in dubai and equally love the vibe of the city.
