Soweto Fashion Week (SFW) makes its return for the Autumn/Winter 2026 season, as it continues to provide a platform for local designers to showcase their work.

The Biannual fashion week will once again take place at the acclaimed Soweto Theatre in Jabulani, delivering a vibrant four-day fashion experience from 28 April – 1 May 2026.
Founded in 2011 by local entrepreneur Stephen Manzini, Soweto Fashion Week was established as a purpose-driven platform dedicated to empowering and showcasing both emerging and established designers from township communities. Over the past decade and a half, it has evolved into one of South Africa's largest and most influential fashion platforms, attracting designers from Soweto and across the country.
Aligned with its vision of empowering emerging talent, the 2026 edition will feature its emerging designers' bloc on opening night, a defining feature of Soweto Fashion Week, alongside established designers who have solidified their presence in the industry.
Adding to the curated lineup, two international designers from South Asia and Spain will debut their collections.
"South Africa is a vital global player and a founding member of the BRICS alliance alongside China, Russia, India, and Brazil. By aligning with these emerging global centres, we are actively reshaping global influence and positioning South Africa at the forefront, led by visionary platforms like Soweto Fashion Week."
- Viktória Varga, internationally recognised award-winning designer
With more than 15 years of industry experience and 26 seasons to its name, Soweto Fashion Week has grown into a dynamic and globally recognised platform, drawing a diverse community of local and international designers, buyers, media, and fashion enthusiasts.
