Rita Dominic has shared a video of Sylvia Edem, the 33rd Miss Nigeria, reflecting on the pageant’s theme, “She’s Made of More,” ahead of the 2026 edition.
Rita, who chairs the Miss Nigeria Board, posted the clip on Instagram on Monday. In the video, Edem speaks candidly about her personal journey and values.
Edem says: “It is my personal journey and my life experiences that have totally shaped my understanding of what it means to be made of more. The value of always believing in myself instead of seeking external validation or desperately trying to find dopamine in external circumstances, when the true dopamine is generated from deep within—pure happiness within. I recently completed a lifestyle and wellness coaching course at Harvard Medical School, and I remember my professor saying that we must strive to be a charismatic adult in the lives of others. That lecture really resonated with me because today we live in a world of copycats and comparisons. But I am made of more when I am authentically myself, and unapologetically so. By being myself, I am able to empower others to do the same—to be themselves rather than copy others. I am made of more when I can stay true to my being, harness my own gifts and talents, and live a life full of purpose. I am made of more when I can show empathy and compassion towards my fellow human beings.”
According to information provided by the organisers, Edem is a company director at 3TOP Aviation Services.
The 46th Miss Nigeria competition is scheduled for 2026, and the search for a new queen is already underway. Organisers say this year’s theme, “She’s Made of More,” centres on female empowerment.
Applications opened in April and are set to close on June 26, 2026.
Activities for the new edition kicked off with the Miss Nigeria Beauty and Fashion Fair, held on March 22 and 23, 2026, at Eko Hotel and Suites.
Miss Nigeria remains one of the country’s longest-running pageants, placing strong emphasis on education, advocacy, and social impact. Winners often lead projects in areas such as health, education, and community development.
