During London Fashion Week, Fashion Synergy Events presented 15 independent designers across three curated runway events. Of those, 10 were women-led brands with compelling founder stories and distinctive designs often defined by cultural heritage.
Together they demonstrate a trend where more and more women turn their personal stories into a powerful fashion statement while also building a sustainable business.

ENEK by Down Mendy
Founded by a Normandy-born, London-based Down Mendy, ENEK explores architectural tailoring and quiet strength through controlled silhouettes. The collection reflects personal reinvention and disciplined design, shaped by independence and self-authorship.
SALVÉRA DESIGN LONDON by Saleha Sultani
Founder Saleha Sultani, originally from Afganistan, began learning tailoring at fourteen when women were not permitted to work outside the home. A talented stylist and a passionate creative, she now leads an independent studio focused on embroidery-led fabrics and refined construction, translating lived resilience into elegant garments.
SHERMAN ALICE DESIGNS by Anna Sherman
Russian-born Anna Sherman launched Sherman Alice Designs in response to a lack of attainable red-carpet-level eveningwear. From her London atelier, she creates couture gowns entirely in-house, combining bold femininity with refined craftsmanship. Her work embodies artisanal independence and considered production, offering statement pieces rooted in skill rather than scale.
WHITE ROSE COUTURE by Marina
York-based founder Marina builds each couture gown through over 100 hours of work. Drawing from British heritage and slow fashion values, her independent studio prioritises longevity, narrative and intentional creation over trend cycles.
IW by Ida Wachyuni
Indonesian designer Ida Wachyuni blends contemporary silhouettes with refined detailing, reflecting a global perspective and personal authorship. Known for spectacular design ideas and hugely popular in her own country, Ida frequently appears on magazine covers. She describes her creations as 'elegant, minimalistic and a little sexy'.
HAUTE SANS COUTURE by Anissa BG
Netherlands-based Anissa BG approaches fashion as sculptural expression. Working independently, her brand integrates sacred geometry, spatial thinking and wearable art, demonstrating conceptual strength outside institutional frameworks.
FASHION CLINIC by Kay Wong
Hong Kong-based founder Kay Wong redefines sustainability through upcycling and botanical dye processes. Her independent practice transforms waste into luxury, positioning environmental responsibility as creative innovation.
JNWANY DESIGNS by Jennifer Okenyi
Founded by Jennifer Okenyi, JNwany Designs presents structured Afro-fusion womenswear grounded in identity and composure. Her brand reflects cultural authorship and founder-led creative control.
LOTICELLI by Lotti Anderson
UK-based designer Lottie Anderson leads Loticelli as a conceptual, nomadic fashion practice. Her AW26/27 collection reframed softness as power, combining punk references with philosophical inquiry. The brand operates independently and is intentionally time-bound, rejecting permanence as a form of authority.
EMBRACE by Ruqsana Begum
Founded by Ruqsana Begum, world champion in Muay Thai and Intercontinental Boxing Champion, Embrace extends her sporting legacy into fashion. Her runway presentation was structured as a live performance in which she participated, reinforcing themes of resilience and self-definition within an independently built brand.
