Christian Louboutin Brings Hollywood Glamour and Fairy Tale Fantasy to Paris Fashion Week
Christian Louboutin delivered a dazzling, surrealist reinterpretation of 1950s Hollywood water ballets at Paris Fashion Week, showcasing his Spring/Summer 2025 collection in an unforgettable spectacle.
Set at the iconic Art Deco Piscine Molitor, 14 dancers and 15 French Olympic artistic swimmers, clad in vintage-inspired swimsuits, performed a breathtaking routine choreographed by Blanca Li and directed by David LaChapelle. A standout feature of the show was a giant slide shaped like the new Me Dolly pump, a red-soled shoe set to debut in early 2025. As swimmers twirled beneath the water, the striking red soles of the Miss Z shoes created mesmerizing patterns.
The collection itself draws inspiration from Beauty and the Beast, weaving elements from the tale’s iconic imagery into its designs. From handmade fabric roses adorning the Belle heels to diamond teardrop embellishments in intricate jewels, the line captures the balance of tenderness and wildness central to the story. The Kate Max design, revamped with claw-like talons on the heel, and the men’s Esquisse Florale shoe, featuring gold embroidery that takes 30 hours to complete, highlight this tension.
Classic favorites get a fresh twist as well, with the Loubi54 bag now available in soft pouches and slouchy totes. Accessories like the Chambelink Strass—a brass pin adorned with 200 rhinestones—serve as versatile additions to evening looks.
Whether through a dreamlike water performance or a collection inspired by timeless fairy tales, Christian Louboutin continues to push the boundaries of fantasy and fashion, inviting everyone to “be their guest.”
