The Latest in Fashion
On March 18, 2023 Big Top Couture of Clinton, NC hosted their 1st Annual Fashion Design Competition. The Design Competition provides local designers the opportunity to compete for a design award and recognition in the Fashion World. Tamara McKinney owner of Skinflints Closet of Greenville, NC won the winner take all design competition. Her award package includes a $1,000 cash prize, a four page spread in Farbe Magazine owned by LaToya Scott of Jacksonville, NC, but currently living in Japan, two tickets to a New York Fashion Week Show, and a gift card to The Cloth Barn of Goldsboro, NC. The event was sponsored by 810 Studios, a media company based in Clinton, NC.
- Designers must showcase original concepts and are scored on designs, construction of garments, and showcase of clothing.
- Tamara competed against Jasmin Underwood, Owner of House of Kustomz of Fayetteville. NC and Brittany Martin, Owner of IntoWishin Designs of Atlanta, GA.
- This is the 1st Annual Big Top Couture Design competition.
